About This Site

1. The purpose of this web site is to display the best, or most interesting, of selected photographs from Dave and Jane (and occasionally other photographers) of birds, other wildlife, plants and scenery taken mostly in Louisiana, along the Mississippi gulf coast, and nearby states. Dave is a retired Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries biologist. He was a District 8 wildlife biologist, stationed in New Orleans, LA, from Feb. 1972 to October 2000. He lives in Metairie, LA. Jane is a self-employed aesthetician who also lives in Metairie.

2. As of Sept. 2008 all photos have been taken with Canon digital SLR cameras and various Canon lenses. In early 2023 a mirrorless Canon R5 camera and mirrorless Canon lens 100-500mm were added.

3. All photographs are copyrighted and are the exclusive property of the respective photographer. Individual photographs are suitable for desktop wallpaper on most computers. Any image may be downloaded and used for personal use. For commercial or other uses please contact the photographer for permission (see e-mail addresses and phone numbers at the bottom right of the home page).

4. Some photos may be purchased in either 4x6, 5x7 or 8x10 print sizes depending on resolution. Please contact Dave for availability and pricing.

5. A montage will eventually be constructed of each month's photos and then placed in the appropriate montage year category.

6. If any errors in identification of species are noticed please feel free to contact Dave with the correction.
